Diet of uremic patients after dialysis

Peritoneal dialysis will lose some protein, so peritoneal dialysis patients in the diet should pay attention to addition of high-quality protein, such as eggs, dairy products contain high-quality protein. But need to pay attention to everything must be moderate, protein intake can not be excessive.

Patients should try to eat low phosphorus, low potassium and low sodium. High phosphorus foods are: Coca Cola and other beverages; high potassium foods are: banana, orange juice, potatoes, dried apricots and spinach; high sodium foods are: pickles, bacon and other processed foods, and salt, MSG and other spices. Uremic patients in the diet should be light based, as little as possible eat salt and monosodium glutamate or any other spices.

Fat intake should not be too much. Like margarine, lard, palm oil, peanut oil, corn oil, olive oil and other foods, those contain high fat, may cause hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
